Financial Faithfulness

Why let the youth have all the fun? Your Finance and Stewardship folks are offering everyone a chance to go back to school this fall. They have put together a financial workshop entitled Financial Faithfulness: Financial Education for Today and Tomorrow. The series will kick off on September 30th and will include a total of four (4) sessions. For your convenience, each workshop session will be offered twice a week – on Sunday morning at 11:00 AM and Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. Each session will take about one hour. The workshop topics will be;

  • Week 1: Course Introduction and the Basics of Household Finance
    (September 30th @ 11:00 AM and October 3rd @ 7:00 PM)
  • Week 2: Looking Ahead: Planning for College and/or Retirement (October
    7th @ 11:00 AM and October 10th @ 7:00 PM)
  • Week 3: Tax strategies and gifting (October 14th @ 11:00 AM and October
    17th @ 7:00 PM)
  • Week 4: Estate Planning Basics: Death, PA and Federal Taxes and
    Probate…Oh my! (October 21st @ 11:00 AM and October 24th @ 7:00 PM)

This course has been developed by members of the congregation, Chris Nichols, Rod MacIntyre, Evelyn Tregaskis and Rick Kempes and will also include outside contributors. We feel that all church members (and members of our community) will find something of benefit in each of the four sessions. A question and answer period will conclude each session and written materials, if pertinent, will be provided free of charge. Please keep your schedule free to attend as many of the sessions as possible and you are encouraged to bring guests who need not be members of the Deep Run congregation. We look forward to seeing you this fall.
