Holy Week Activities @ Deep Run

Today is Maundy Thursday, which literally translates to “Commandment Thursday.”  This is the day that Jesus gathered with his closest disciples in the upper room to celebrate the Passover.  During this meal, Jesus washed his disciples feet and gave them a new commandment to “love one another.” After dinner, they journeyed to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray before Jesus was subsequently arrested, tried as a political prisoner, and crucified.

But, that’s not the end of the story!  Death could not contain Jesus.  He rose from the dead and lives among us…lives in and through us…still today!

Join us this evening at 7:00pm in the sanctuary for our Maundy Thursday service as we journey from the scene of the upper room to the cross.  Or, you can join us for our Maundy Thursday service via livestream by clicking the following link:  MAUNDY THURSDAY LIVESTREAM

Tomorrow is Good Friday, the day we reflect on Jesus’ death on the cross.  Pastor Kris has prepared a simple Good Friday “Praying the Psalms” Home Devotional for you to use.  There are three Psalms that you are encouraged to read and pray.  One for the morning, one for noontime, and one for the evening on Good Friday.  The Good Friday home devotional is available as a PDF for you to download.  Go to the following link, then scroll down and click on the button that says, DOWNLOAD:  PRAYING THE PSALMS: GOOD FRIDAY HOME DEVOTIONAL

Finally, we come to the day of celebration…the day that changed everything…Easter!  We will have two services on Easter Sunday; one at 8:00am in the Irish Meeting House, and one at 10:00am in the Sanctuary.  Join us in-person for one of our two services.  Or, you can join us online for the 10:00am livestream by clicking on the following link:  EASTER LIVESTREAM

May your Holy Week be a time of compassionate connection with the living God!
