These beautiful note cards have been created to support hunger and poverty initiatives in Flint River Presbytery, a region which covers the SW corner of Georgia.  These are made possible because of a lovely connection between Joan Gray, Jennifer Spear and Debra Tregaskis. These stunning cards reflect an idea that first sprouted into life nearly 7 years ago.

The Reverend Joan S. Gray, a well-known teaching elder living in Atlanta, has served the Presbyterian Church (USA) and 3 of our Presbyterian seminaries in countless, crucial and groundbreaking ways. Most recently, she is best known for her book called Sailboat Church: Helping Your Church Rethink Its Mission and Practice, published in 2014.

In 2018, Jennifer Spear, a gifted artist and long-time member of the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, created a series of watercolor images to parallel the chapters in Joan’s book.

The Reverend Debra Tregaskis, a daughter of the Deep Run congregation and Flint River Presbytery’s current Executive Presbyter, was delighted to see the unexpected collision of her two worlds when she discovered Jennifer’s rendering of Joan’s book on the walls of her childhood sanctuary.

Because of the glad and generous agreement of both Joan and Jennifer, Flint River Presbytery has crafted these cards in the hope of making the world a little brighter.
